At Ahavah Student Care Centre in Bukit Merah, caring for your children is our priority. They will find comfort, food, and warmth in a cosy environment with a homely ambience — a place where they feel safe and supported after school.
In caring for your child, we hope to help them develop empathy, love, and the ability to interact and form relationships. A child finds their identity through growing up in healthy relationships with peers and adults. A strong sense of self helps the child become confident and grow up with strong self-worth, supporting them on their lifelong journey. To this end, we design psychoeducation programmes to teach emotional regulation and positive coping skills, helping each child develop a good concept of self and promoting good emotional health within a Christian nurturing environment.
We use role-play to simulate challenging situations at school, encourage dialogue and conversations, and create a space where the child feels safe to speak up and share emotional issues they may be struggling with. Through this, the child learns that they do not have to face problems alone, and that problems can be worked through together.
At Ahavah, we hope to partner with parents across Bukit Merah and Henderson to develop a secure base for the child — forming secure attachment and readying them to launch out into the world with strong emotional health amidst life’s ups and downs. Our after school care programme is designed to support this journey, offering more than just supervision but a nurturing environment where children grow emotionally and socially.
